ANSWER:
Tea is the most popular and global drink which is reflected by the fact that more than 50 per cent of the total world population uses tea as the drink. Tea is the National Drink in China, Japan, Britain, Sri Lanka and Russian Federation. In many African and Eastern countries tea is preferred over coffee which is the next rival of tea.

The tea plant botanically called ‘Camellia Sinensis’ and tea is the general name this plant. Out of 600 plants of tea family, it is 28th. One and the most of its group are found in East Asia and South America.

According to a belief, tea was discovered by Emperor Shenmong of China in 2732 B.C. But the documentary proof of use of tea in China is available during the Confucius period; 551 to 479 B.C. Nobody was introduced even with the name of tea up to 1559 in Europe. America began trade of tea in 1826. Dutch people began tea cultivation in the island of Java and Robert Bruce; a British discovered Jungle Tea Plant in Assam but the British governor William Bantic took steps to cultivate tea on the large scale in 1836.

Tea contains sufficient quantity of Caffeine which provides instant energy to the people. The proportion of caffeine in tea may be 2.5 to 4.5 per cent but it 1 .5 on average.

Tea is a subtropic plant of Asia. It is being cultivated in both subtropical and upland locations. Tea is being cultivated in the world on such a large scale that 44 countries of all the continents are currently cultivating tea. Approximately, 4,105,302 metric tones. Most of the tea growing countries are situated outside tropics. Most of the tea is cultivated in Asia including India, China, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Indonesia, Japan, Vietnam, Georgia, Bangladesh and Iran.

The tea cultivating countries outside Asia are Argentina, Malavi, Yogenda, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Rawanda, South Africa, Mozembique, Papua New Guinea and Burundi. India is the biggest tea producing and importing country of the world.
