SECONDARY PRODUCTION -MANUFACTURING
Britain was the first country in the world to industrialize and develop a large manufacturing sector. The rise in manufacturing output after 1750 was so great that the term Industrial Revolution was used to describe the change.
During the nineteenth century, Britain was known as the ‘workshop of the world’ because it dominated large sectors of global manufacturing. However, since then, many other countries have industrialized and some have overtaken Britain in Industrial production.
