WHAT ROLE THE EFFECTIVE AND EFFICIENT MEANS OF TRANSPORT PLAY IN ECONOMICS AND POLITICS OF A COUNTRY? EXPLAIN.

ANSWER:
The economic and political significance of developed arid expended means of transport can be assessed by the following:

a. POLITICAL IMPORTANCE:
The following political advantages can be cultivated through developed means of transport:

1. LAW AND ORDER:
Developed and fast means of transport and communication help in maintaining the peace and order in the country. In case at arty industrial or social unrest and chaos, not only the instant information is passed to the law and order enforcing agencies but the police or army reaching at the side immediately, control the situation. It peace and order is maintained in the country, it would be the symptom and guarantee of industrial development.

2. POLITICAL AWAKENING.
In the presence of modern, fast cheap and efficient means of transport, the people mutually meat frequently due to which they could mutually know about the political and economic situation of the country and so they play their due role in over all economic and political process.

3. SOUND DEFENCE:


It a country owns modern, fast and efficient land, air and water means of transport, she can protect its political integrity and maintain political solidarity against the enemy easily. Obviously, the defense of the country should be preferred over all.

b. SOCIAL IMPORTANCE:
Following arguments can be extended in favour of social significance of developed means of transport:

1. EXTENSION OF SETTLEMENT:


The different regions and areas of a country become easy to reach through efficient and developed means of transport therefore, if some areas are lying unpopulated but can be used for living, these areas can be occupied for residence and the problem of concentration of population at some areas can be solved.

2. REDUCTION IN POPULATION PRESSURE:
Developed and fast means of transport reduce the distances between rural and urban areas. People can visit and meat their friends and relatives easy and frequently. As a result, mobility f population from rural to urban areas decreases due to which unnecessary burden and pressure of population in the urban areas can be reduced.

3. PROMOTION OF EDUCATION:
Developed and expended transport net work provides facility to the rural student to study in the urban educational Institutions. The means of transport, in this manner, help in promotion of education in the country and so the literacy rate increases.

4. ENHANCEMENT IN SOCIAL WELFARE:
The developed means of transport and communication, providing the basic and bare necessities of life to the people, increase the social welfare.

5. BROTHERHOOD:
Better and last means of transport and communication help in providing information in and out side the country. The meetings amongst the people in person or through letters, telephones etc. create sense of brotherhood amongst the people. Consequently, society becomes socially prosperous.
