MEETINGS OR CONFERENCES AND THEIR KINDS
Meetings and conferences are the ways of participation of managers in the decision making process. The meeting of heads, supervisors, and employees are held to inform, suggest a solution to a problem, or to discuss ways to solve it.
Conferences may be of the following types:
The Informational Conferences
Its purpose is to provide certain information to the participants for their guidance and improving their understanding of the problem or situation.
Suggested Solution Conference
At the beginning of the conference a suggested solution is presented for discussion and debate. All the attending personnel contribute their ideas.
Problem solving Conference
When the executive has no adequate solution to a problem he seeks suggestions from the conferees. It requires careful planning and presiding over by the leader, and challenging participation of the conferees.
