EXPLAIN THE VARIOUS SOURCES FROM WHICH FISH IS CAUGHT.
Fish and water life is found where water is found. Following are the sources from where fish is caught:
Ocean is the most important source of fishing. It can be assessed by the fact that 80 per cent of the world total fish catch is achieved from ocean. Fish caught from ocean are called Saline Water Fish’ and according to a cautious estimation, twenty thousand kinds of fish caught from ocean. In addition to fish, prawns are also caught from ocean. Ocean fish is classified into two groups; Pelagic kind of fish which are caught from shallow water and the Demurral kind of fish found in the deep seas.
Reverian fish is known as Sweet Water Fish According to estimation; there are 40,000 kinds of fish out of which half of the kinds are Sweet Water Fish. The rivers are of two kinds; seasonal rivers and ever flowing rivers. In the seasonal rivers, water flows only during a particular period but ever flowing rivers have water for all the times. All the methods of fish hunting are used for catching fish from rivers. Some rivers are very wide like River Nile in Egypt in which heavy fishing trollors are used.
The Fish found in lakes are called Sweet Water Fish because most of the lakes have Sweet water. There are a few lakes which have saltesh water like ocean. Some lakes are ocean like very wide like KalariLakein Pakistan from where fish is caught in large quantity.
Ponds are classified into two natural and artificial ponds. If rainy water is gathered at a depressed spot, it is converted into natural pond. Artificial ponds can also be constructed specially for keeping fish. For instance, the land in Sindh has become the victim of salinity in which nothing can be grown the owners. Abandoning the tilling of these farms, have dug them and converted into artificial ponds in which they keep fish. This occupation of fish keeping is being adopted on the large scale, Shrimps, for these purposes are available at price. These shrimps are kept n these ponds and after a short period of time their weight increase as such that they are sent to the market for selling purpose. The fish achieved through this source is not for the local consumption not for export purpose.
